Nick, whose first encounter with Gatsby looking upon the green light, by the end of the book, sees a troubled man in Gatsby. A man who has a mysterious past as no one except Gatsby truly knows who he is. A man madly in love with a women who is already married. A man who gained money, wealth, and power from unknown sources. Gatsby uses the light as a light at the end of the tunnel. A light that shows the end to all of his problems. TG
"I waited, and about four o'clock she came to the window and stood there for a minute and then turned out the light." Gatsby thinks he is finally going to get Daisy but she shuts him out. SA
