The Green light represents the possible future in the book. It represents Gatsby and Daisy's relationship getting closer and closer and as the book goes on it feels like Gatsby is getting closer and closer to the light.

Usually when people think of the color grean they immediately think of money. The Great Gasby is all about power and money. West egg vs East egg.
Gasby's lawn was always perfect and when Daisy was coming over to Nick's Gasby made sure Nick's yard was in perfect shape. He sent one of his workers to cut Nick's grass in the pouring rain. MG
"Her voice is full of money" Nick said this about Daisy. Daisy married Tom because he was rich. MG
-“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter—tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. And then one fine morning— So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” Nick says this to inform us that Gatsby's dreams are not possible and that there will not be a good ending for him.
